In laboratory experiments, organo sulfur compounds found in ordinary garlic have been shown to be effective
in destroying human glioblastoma cells, a common, fast growing and life threatening type of brain tumor.
The study was conducted by researchers at the Medical University of South Carolina and appeared in the scientific journal Cancer.

Glioblastoma is the most common and most aggressive malignant primary brain tumor found in humans.
When tested in the lab, these type of tumor cells were successfully destroyed by compounds from within the garlic.
As sulphone hydroxyl ions in garlic are so small, they should also be able to penetrate the blood-brain barrier in a human and may reproduce the effect there.
One of the leading researchers, Ray, commented "This research highlights the great promise of plant-originated compounds as natural medicine for controlling the malignant growth of human brain tumor cells”.
The researchers stated more years of research would need to be conducted before it was able to turn their discovery into a medicine.

However, to take advantage of any possible and potential effects of the garlic, Ray suggested "to cut and peel a piece of fresh garlic
and let it sit for fifteen minutes before eating or cooking it. This time
allows for the release of an enzyme (allinase) that produces the
anti-cancer compounds."

In Chinese Medicine, garlic can be used to activate circulation, cleanse the body and to expectorate any unwanted substances from it. It can be used to push bacteria, viruses, toxins, fats and any impurities (such as unnatural cells in cancerous tumors) from the body.
It can be used as part of treatment for any type of cancer, both in tackling the cancer itself and in supporting the immune system to do the same and to protect the body against colds (which would be especially important during chemotherapy treatments when the immune system of an individual has been compromised).
Garlic, when taken in excess, can cause problems and unwanted negative reactions in the body. So my advice is to include small amounts of it in your diet, you could add a little in with your main meal, (just as I do every day). One of the authors of the study above suggests to use raw garlic which has been cut and left for 15 minutes to activate cancer fighting enzymes in it. this sounds like good advice to follow.
