A review of studies by Australian researchers found that treating female infertility with Chinese Herbal Medicine can improve pregnancy rates two-fold within three to six months, when compared to the success rates of Western medical fertility therapies.
The researchers led by K. Ried searched the Medline and Cochrane medical and scientific databases for randomized controlled trials and meta-analyses investigating Chinese Herbal Medicine for female infertility.
They found forty RCTs which involved 4247 women with infertility to include in their review. Trials included women with many different types of infertility issues, including - unexplained infertility, endometriosis, PCOS, anovulation, and fallopian tube blockage.
The results ... Meta-analysis of these studies suggested that there was a 1.74 higher probability of achieving a pregnancy with Chinese Herbal Medicine than with Western Medicine therapy alone amongst women with infertility.
Mean pregnancy rates in the Chinese Herbal Medicine group were 60% compared with 33% in the Western Medicine group.
Fertility indicators such as ovulation rates, biphasic basal body temperature, cervical mucus score, appropriate thickness of the endometrial lining were measurably positively influenced by the herbs.
Overall the review found that the management of female infertility with Chinese Herbal Medicine appeared to improve pregnancy rates two fold within a 3-6 month period compared with Western Medical fertility drug treatments.

In my clinic I regularly combine Chinese Herbal Medicine with Acupuncture and Chinese Dietary Therapy to treat both female and male infertility. I find I achieve excellent results for my clients with this approach.
It definitely appears to work the best and is far superior to just having Acupuncture alone. Both empirical evidence and an abundance of advanced Chinese medical research and studies also confirm this. In China, Chinese Herbal Medicine would be the first option used by anyone having any problem with fertility.
In my own personal experience, from having worked with a very large number of clients experiencing fertility issues over the last twenty plus years, I have even seen my clients obtain a significantly higher success rate of achieving pregnancy than the figures quoted in the study review discussed above.
I can wholeheartedly recommend the use of Chinese Herbs to increase anyone's general fertility and to help in resolving infertility issues.
